Angelo J Rossi, aka “AJ Crawdaddy” is an American Guitarist and owner, operator of The Cave Recording Studio and Record Label. Born in Palo Alto, California and a long time Bay Area performing artist he is most well known for his work with the popular Marin based pop group, Pablo Cruise which charted multi-platinum albums, A Place In The Sun and Worlds Away producing hits like, A Place In The Sun, Love Will Find A Way, Watcha Gonna Do (When She Says Goodbye), Rio and Cool Love. He is a BMI published writer, A voting member of N.A.R.A.S. (Grammy) he also owns and operates the Cave Recording Studio, recording, producing and working with many local Blues artists, Bruce Conte (TOP), Terry Hiatt, Steve Freund, Paula Harris, Terrie Odabi, Bob O’Neill, and many others. He has also worked with notable musical luminaries in his vibrant career, Flora Purim, Airto, Jaco Pastorius, Huey Lewis, David Garibaldi, Kid Andersen and legendary record producers Tom Dowd, Bill Schnee and Jim Gains. His love of music performance is infectious and his presentation of the Blues genre is authentic, energetic and fun for the listener!

Lilan Kane and her AKG “Tube”…having fun with old school tools!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure to work with Ms. Lilan Kane and two of her colleagues, fellow vocalist’s who came in to sing some BG’s on a cover of a Candi Staton tune called, “Evidence”.  Besides having a great sense of who she is, Lilan has soul and can back it up.  I have the pleasure of working with many local, SF Bay Area artist’s.  But for me, this was a first.  When Lilan arrived at the studio, yesterday, she was carrying a road case that said AKG on it.  Little did I know what treasure I would find inside.   It’s day’s, no, moment’s like this that inspire me to keep the doors open at The Cave.

How many artist’s even know what a tube microphone is, let alone own one and have the trust and presence of mind to, “bring it” when they arrive to a session?  This was a first for me and it made me happy to find someone else who has as much passion and resolve so as to risk, plunk down the kind of money it takes to own this level of professional equipment and to trust me with it.

We are up and running!

Well, we are finally up and running and I am so happy that you stopped by to say hello!

Tonight, the Cave is proud to be a sponsor of the Little Fox Blues Jam in beautiful downtown Redwood City.  Tonight’s Artist Host is Steve Freund, one of the finest blues talents in a generation.

This week at the Cave we began overdubs for Scary Larry and the Monsters, as well as, Vocal performances by Guy Williamson, working on the debut effort from Ms. Lilan Kane and sorting out mixes for the Rossi Brothers third release.  Lot’s going on!  As we sort out the new WordPress Blog/Website, we will keep you posted on who is doing what and when they are doing it, as well as keeping you up on current events at The Cave.
