In November of 2015, John Trudell began recording his final words/recordings at The Cave Recording Studio. HIs band, “Bad Dog” arrived at The Cave and after visiting John at El Camino Hospital began the task of recording the music for John’s final rendering. I was tasked with engineering and recording this effort. I remotely recorded John’s spoken word verse from his bed at the hospital with an assist from Robby Yamilov and soon after wrapping the two week sessions at The Cave, John left this earthly plane. It has been nine years and change and under the auspice of Jackson Brown (Producer) the last recordings of John Trudell and Bad Dog are finished, Mixed and Mastered to be released on Jackson’s label this year 2024.
