Early Cave Recording Studio moments and what was once a thriving business.. now a fond memory kept alive by this website. I built this labor of love from an empty room and a dream. I was determined to learn how being on the “other side of the glass” worked in trying to expand my horizons. Built out this studio with a lot of help from friends. IN the end, it was, “the economy, stupid” that shuttered the Cave. (Image below) The Gamble Board was used in the early days exclusively as the ‘Input” device. As the Cave matured, An Altec 250 SU Console, DBX Dual 386’, a “Hear System” headphone system and dual vintage 50’s Telefunken V 72’s for recording anything and everything, “vocals” especially were added.

The Cave Cockpit was pretty efficient, and in the end, lava lamp and all a very ergonomically pleasing environment to engineer in. I was really proud of the final environment I built. Kudos to my Partner, Kevin Korecky of Pro Audio Rental of Palo Alto.
